Big news from Jay Sean today, as he has announced he’s leaving Cash Money Records and will be independently releasing his new mixtape The Mistress II, in November. The news comes with a new song and accompanying video, which you can view above and cop below. Expect more R&B music, and less Pop from Jay, as he had this to say to Billboard:
I had and still maintain a great relationship with Slim and Baby [CEOs of Cash Money]. They believed in me and my talent and our partnership obviously garnered a lot of pop success.” But Sean wants to go in a different direction artistically. “It got to the point where I was chasing pop success and ‘the smash’ when really my heart wasn’t in it anymore,” he says. “That’s not why I got into this game.

Frenchie has launched his own label by the name of Protekted Records, and is planning to release his debut album sometime in 2015 through the imprint. Ain’t Goin Nowhere serves as the first taste of the project.
